Personal inking and typing dictionary allows better and intelligent suggestions by collecting and creating a personal dictionary using your typing history and handwriting patterns.

Windows collects unique words—like names you write—in a personal dictionary stored locally on your device, which helps you type and ink more accurately.

By default, this feature turned on and enabled. However, if you want to limit Windows enabling too many unnecessary features, you can disable personal inking and typing dictionary, and the steps below show you how.

How to disable personal inking and typing dictionary in Windows 11

As mentioned above, Windows uses personal inking and typing dictionary to enable and use intelligent suggestions by collecting and creating a personal dictionary using your typing history and handwriting patterns.

Below is how to enable or disable personal inking and typing dictionary in Windows 11:

Windows 11 has a centralized location for majority of its settings. From system configurations to creating new users and updating Windows, all can be done from its Settings app.

To get to System Settings, you can use the Windows key + i shortcut or click on Start ==> Settings as shown in the image below:

Alternatively, you can use the search box on the taskbar and search for Settings. Then select to open it.

Windows Settings pane should look similar to the image below. In Windows Settings, click Privacy & security > Inking & typing personalization tile to expand it.

On the Privacy & security > Inking & typing personalization settings pane, toggle the buttons to On or Off for Personal inking and typing dictionary.

You can now exit the Settings app.
