This post shows students and new users how to login to Windows 11 with a secure PIN (Personal Identification Number) instead of passwords.
Windows 11 allows you to sign in with a PIN number. This personal PIN is a recommended, fast and secure way log in to your Windows device and access other apps, and services.
Windows PIN is part of Windows Hello security feature that enables other sign-in options. One can use picture password, PIN, fingerprint, and face and to sign into Windows. Hello PIN is secure in that the PIN is tied to the specific device on which it was set up.
The PIN is useless on other devices, and only works on the specific device it was created on. Passwords can be stolen and used on any device with the same account. However, with PIN, it can only be used on the device it was created on.
The new Windows 11 will come with many new features and enhancements that will work great for some while adding some learning challenges for others. Some things and settings have changed so much that folks will have to learn new ways to work with and manage Windows 11.
One legacy feature that’s also available in Windows 11 is Hello PIN. This was in previous versions of Windows as well, and now available in Windows 11.
Also, if you’re a student or new user and you want to learn how to use Windows, the easiest place to start is Windows 11. Windows 11 is a major release of the Windows NT operating system developed by Microsoft. Windows 11 is the successor to Windows 10 and it’s expected to be released later this year.
