This post shows students and new users steps to disable the use of fingerprint recognition sign-in with Windows 11. Windows 11 comes with a Windows Hello feature that provides a more personal and secure way to sign into Windows devices.
With Windows Hello, one can use a PIN, their face, or fingerprint to sign into their devices. Windows Hello is a way one can ditch their passwords in favor of a more secure and personal method of authentication.
In order to use Windows Hello security authentication methods, you’ll need a Windows computer with special hardware that supports these authentication methods. You’ll need a fingerprint reader to sign in with your fingerprint, an infrared camera to use your face and TPM to sign in with a PIN.
The steps below show you how to disable or remove a fingerprint recognition sign-in option with Windows 11. Once you set up a fingerprint authentication, you’ll be allowed to sign in with your printerprint.
If you do not want to use your fingerprint to sign in, simply remove that option, and the steps below show you how.
